The Diviners by Libba Bray Review and How to Deal With the Problem Being Stuck in book Series

Hello everyone,

Today I will talk about my review for the book "The Diviners."

I will also talk about reading the first book in series, and for some reason, not being able to continue. (i.e. the series just began and you are waiting for the next book, or you are too broke to get the next book)

Review

"The Diviners" was an amazing book. I was reading it with an audio-book, or else I would still be reading it.

It is a little bit slow because it is very descriptive which I enjoyed a lot.

I loved the character development. You get attached to the characters.

My favorite character was Memphis.

I can relate with him because of his change of beliefs, being forced to be a certain way by his aunt, losing a parent and later falling in love with someone society told him not to be with. All the characteristics seem realistic.

Another thing I loved about the book was the effort put into it. At the end of the book, the author talked about how she got the information from.
Overall, I would give the book 4.5/ 5.

The Struggle is Real

My issue is that I am broke and not able to read the second book of the Diviners.

After finding out that the Diviners was a quadrilogy (tetralogy whatever you call it), and after I wasted many days complaining, finally was able to come up with ways to deal with the problem.

Solution one: Chat rooms/ forums

It is very helpful to talk to other people that are interested in the same book. But make sure to let them know that you haven't read a certain part  of the book, so they do not spoil you.

Solution two: Rewrite the story (FanFiction)

I use this method to deal with this issue because I want to ship my character with one of the characters from the story. The fun part of this is that you can make the characters do whatever you want them to do, but watch out for copyrights and write a disclaimer for safety

Solution three: Avoid Searching information online

I know this contradicts the previous solutions, but it is an option so you can choose between the three. I can not avoid the internet, so I use a different solution.
